–McDonald's Snack Wraps. Sure, they're still McFood, but they're slightly less bad for you than the burgers, and two of them is enough to fill me up just fine for lunch (and cheaper than a McMeal). Plus they taste pretty good, too – although there's always the question of whether yours is made [...]

Does everyone remember this dude? The one who wrote the letter to the paper that was quite literally singing Bush's praises? Yeah. He's jumping on another subject, with equally misinformed enthusiasm.
I am writing in response to the letter to the editor, “Why aren't there more scholarships, grants?” published July 26. [...]

…Yeah. Life's been pretty uninteresting, lately. But it's amazing what you can do with a Really Impressive Title.
First off, I want to say that I think I was maybe a little hard on my brother. He's really trying, and God knows he's not at an easy stage of life – the transition [...]

Idjit brother

So…my idiot younger brother is in trouble. Again.
Apparently he's recently totalled his car in an attempt to avoid hitting a deer. He's not hurt, but both of his jobs are car-dependent so he's in a bit of a fix.

If one goes to all the trouble to buy snacks and write invitations and clean house for a party to celebrate one's birthday, and nobody shows up, does the birthday still happen?
Actually, that's not an entirely accurate summation of what happened. I did buy snacks and send invites and clean the house (with Brian [...]

Background: Nancy walked in today with a bottle wrapped quite nicely in felt and ribbon and a very cute card for my birthday. Wade is standing nearby, preoccupied with something else. I unwrap the bottle to find a 2002 Chateau de Vis Cabernet Sauvignon.
Me: Oh, neat! I've never had this [...]

Yes, I've been reading Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons' Watchmen. I'm about halfway through at the moment, and I have to say I've been pretty floored by it – both by how well they handle the myriad characters, and how tightly meshed the various storylines are – bits of plot and visual cues that [...]
