Sad news

On the third tentacle, it meant I was able to do a surprising amount of apartment cleaning-up and rearranging following Tak's departure.
On the fourth [...]

Jonesing already?

Christmas has been altogether lovely, with some excellent presents both given and received. Favorite present-opening moments: Taktuk opening a set of unlabeled brushed stainless steel polyhedral dice and being able to identify material, size, and store of origin; Brian tearing the wrapping off a box from my mother, seeing it labeled “L. I just discovered that my MacBook saves the volume setting for various audio outputs. So when unplug my headphones to use the external speakers, I don't have to fumble with the volume keys to turn it back up. And when I plug headphones in, I don't risk blasting my ears out.
…that is SO [...]

Noooooooooooooo!

My hatred for Gross-Alaska (the local movie theater company) knows no bounds.
Not only do they have an awful track record with customer service, movie-watching experience, and title selection, they have now committed an unforgivable sin.
They won't have Sweeney Todd playing here in time for us to go see it on Christmas.
I mean, come on. [...]

Have I mentioned how much I love xkcd's Man-In-Hat? He's always working so tirelessly to make the world a weirder place…
Many thanks to Randall Munroe, who not only allows but encourages hotlinking to his comic.
